“ Cafe Olive was a nice surprise while we were walking to rediscover Cartier street after two years of Covid. It is a very warm little place and the staff is very friendly and welcoming. I actually made this recommendation after my second visit and the staff remembered us. It is evident their interest in connecting with their customers. If you don't know what to drink ask for a recommendation. If you want something original order the espresso tonic. You can also find matcha latte. Everything we tried was prepared to perfection and delicious. In a few more weeks they are going to start selling affogatos, we will be back to try it for sure! ”
“ Glad we found this cafe on our last day at Quebec. The staff is very nice and knowledgeable. Very good interior design and drinks as well. One of the few cafes that actually serves shakerato. Highly recommend this coffee shop if you are in the area. ”
“ I heard about Cafe Olive from a friend in Quebec and saw a TikTok by Olivier Primeau, so I had to check it out. And honestly? What a gem. I got a flat white and a cheese pastry—both excellent. The coffee beans are from Denmark, and the taste is smooth, fruity, and beautifully balanced. They offer regular and oat milk, which is always a win. You can either stand inside for a quick sip or sit outside and soak in the vibe. But what really stuck with me was the service. The barista casually asked where I was from and how long I was visiting—just enough to feel welcomed without overstepping. But what really got me? He knew every regular by name and their order by heart. That kind of attention makes a place feel special. I also loved eavesdropping on customers discussing the coffee’s flavor—throwing around words like round in the mouth and fruity with a muted acidity. Their passion was contagious. If you love coffee, this spot is worth the detour. Just don’t even think about asking for sugar—it’s literally written on their cup. ”
“ Beautiful little cafe in old Quebec. The design of this cafe is a 10/10. They went with a minimalistic and clean look. Although the space is so small the owners seemed to make it work by using warm and light colors which open up the space. For seating they have a stand up bar where you could stand and drink your coffee, a small table in the hidden corner for two people and some seating outside for the warmer weather. The couple at the bar was very welcoming and spoke English. I ordered a latte with oat milk - yes they have lactose free options. The latte art was beautiful but I some how managed to ruin it before I could take a picture. The latte was milky, had notes of sweetness and yet you could still taste the espresso in it which I loved. Definitely one of the best lattes I have tried to date. I would definitely recommend this cafe to anyone visiting old Quebec. ”
“ Best coffee spot in the upper town. Feels like a cute European little coffee place Same owner as Apotek in the lower town. 10/10 coffee. ”
“ Secret place to drink a 10/10 coffee. Both of the coffee maker is professional and with great skills. I drink a pullover coffee here and they explain me a lot for the favor of the beans and technique. They actually did a good job and I love to stay here. I will come back next time. ”
“ They only offer light roast coffee which have good quality. Staff are nice and friendly. They also offer pour over coffee as well which not many cafe has. ”
“ HANDS DOWN AMAZING!! We visited this place 4 days out of the 5 while in Quebec City. Cardamom buts the best I have ever had. And I have had quite a few. ”
